About the Book
The
NTM Handbook is a 103-page eBook written by me, Donita Simpson, a NTM
patient myself. It contains information for patients and their families
about NTM. It explains the illness and provides information about diagnosis,
treatment and regaining health.
Topics include:
•
What is NTM?
•
Who Gets NTM?
•
How is NTM Contracted?
•
What are the Symptoms of NTM?
•
How is NTM Diagnosed?
•
How is NTM Treated?
•
Regaining and Maintaining Health
The handbook also
contains a resource list, glossary and templates for keeping track of
medication and protein intake.
When I first learned I had NTM, I was bewildered. It took me a long time
to research the topic and understand the diagnosis. As a result of my
experience, I thought I could provide a resource that might save others
all the time it took me to find information. The book is written in plain
language for a layperson by a layperson; however, it should not be considered
a substitute for professional medical advice.
